How TEP’s plans work
TRRES (Residential Service Basic). In July the first 500 kWh a month cost 15.0¢ each; then 17.1¢ above 500 kWh a month, then 15.2¢ above 549 kWh a month, then 15.9¢ above 1,000 kWh a month. An average Arizona home (1,711 kWh in July) goes past the first tier, so extra load such as an EV is priced higher. Fixed charge: $15.28 a month.
TRREST (Residential Service Time-of-Use). Peak 3 pm–7 pm on July weekdays; 4 of 24 hours carry the top price of 21.5¢. The cheapest July weekday hour costs 14.3¢, so moving 1 kWh out of the top hours saves 7.2¢. January weekdays range from 13.9¢ to 14.8¢. Summer pricing applies May–Sep; winter pricing Oct–Apr. Weekends follow a different schedule from weekdays. Fixed charge: $12.23 a month.
Prices on this page are all-in per kWh, before taxes: base rates, supply and every per-kWh rider in the utility’s current tariff sheets. Your bill shows them as separate lines, and riders can change between tariff revisions.
As a cross-check, TEP billed its residential customers an average of 15.63¢ per kWh in 2024 (revenue ÷ sales, EIA-861). A plan taken from URDB is shown only if its all-in price is consistent with that figure, adjusted for Arizona’s price change since.
