How the two plans work

RS-1: Residential Service

  • In July the first 1,000 kWh a month cost 13.5¢ each; then 15.4¢ above 1,000 kWh a month.
  • An average Florida home (1,477 kWh in July) goes past the first tier, so extra load such as an EV is priced higher.
  • Fixed charge: $14.35 a month.
  • Minimum bill: $30.00 a month.

RST-1: Residential Time-of-Use

  • Mid-peak 6 am–6 pm, Peak 6 pm–9 pm, Mid-peak 9 pm–12 am on July weekdays; 3 of 24 hours carry the top price of 17.9¢.
  • The cheapest July weekday hour costs 10.8¢, so moving 1 kWh out of the top hours saves 7.1¢.
  • January weekdays range from 10.8¢ to 17.9¢.
  • Summer pricing applies Mar–Nov; winter pricing Dec–Feb.
  • Weekends follow a different schedule from weekdays.
  • Fixed charge: $14.35 a month.
