How the two plans work

R-31: Residential Service

  • In July the first 650 kWh a month cost 13.8¢ each; then 20.5¢ above 650 kWh a month, then 21.0¢ above 1,000 kWh a month.
  • An average Georgia home (1,478 kWh in July) goes past the first tier, so extra load such as an EV is priced higher.
  • Fixed charge: $16.00 a month.

TOU-OA-15: Overnight Advantage

  • Mid-peak 7 am–2 pm, Peak 2 pm–7 pm, Mid-peak 7 pm–11 pm on July weekdays; 5 of 24 hours carry the top price of 39.9¢.
  • The cheapest July weekday hour costs 6.0¢, so moving 1 kWh out of the top hours saves 33.9¢.
  • January weekdays range from 6.0¢ to 15.7¢.
  • Summer pricing applies Jun–Sep; winter pricing Oct–May.
