How Consumers Energy’s plans work
RSP (Summer On-Peak). Peak 2 pm–7 pm on July weekdays; 5 of 24 hours carry the top price of 27.4¢. The cheapest July weekday hour costs 22.6¢, so moving 1 kWh out of the top hours saves 4.8¢. In January every hour costs the same (20.5¢). Summer pricing applies Jun–Sep; winter pricing Oct–May. Weekends follow a different schedule from weekdays. Fixed charge: $9.50 a month.

Prices on this page are all-in per kWh, before taxes: base rates, supply and every per-kWh rider in the utility’s current tariff sheets. Your bill shows them as separate lines, and riders can change between tariff revisions.
As a cross-check, Consumers Energy billed its residential customers an average of 19.11¢ per kWh in 2024 (revenue ÷ sales, EIA-861). A plan taken from URDB is shown only if its all-in price is consistent with that figure, adjusted for Michigan’s price change since.
