How NV Energy’s plans work
RS (Residential Service). One price per kWh at every hour, all year: 11.9¢. Shifting use to other hours changes nothing on this plan; using less is the only lever. Fixed charge: $18.00 a month.
ORS-TOU (Optional Residential Time of Use). Peak 6 pm–9 pm on July weekdays; 3 of 24 hours carry the top price of 47.5¢. The cheapest July weekday hour costs 7.6¢, so moving 1 kWh out of the top hours saves 39.8¢. In January every hour costs the same (9.0¢). Summer pricing applies Jun–Sep; winter pricing Oct–May. Fixed charge: $18.00 a month.
Prices on this page are all-in per kWh, before taxes: base rates, supply and every per-kWh rider in the utility’s current tariff sheets. Your bill shows them as separate lines, and riders can change between tariff revisions.
As a cross-check, NV Energy billed its residential customers an average of 15.33¢ per kWh in 2024 (revenue ÷ sales, EIA-861). A plan taken from URDB is shown only if its all-in price is consistent with that figure, adjusted for Nevada’s price change since.
