How PSEG Long Island’s plans work
180 (Residential Service). In July the first 250 kWh a month cost 25.7¢ each; then 28.5¢ above 250 kWh a month. An average New York home (784 kWh in July) goes past the first tier, so extra load such as an EV is priced higher. Fixed charge: $17.34 a month. Minimum bill: $17.34 a month.
194 (Residential Time-of-Day (default)). Peak 3 pm–7 pm on July weekdays; 4 of 24 hours carry the top price of 50.7¢. The cheapest July weekday hour costs 23.6¢, so moving 1 kWh out of the top hours saves 27.2¢. January weekdays range from 21.9¢ to 49.9¢. Summer pricing applies Jun–Sep; winter pricing Oct–May. Weekends follow a different schedule from weekdays. Fixed charge: $17.34 a month. Minimum bill: $17.34 a month.
Prices on this page are all-in per kWh, before taxes: base rates, supply and every per-kWh rider in the utility’s current tariff sheets. Your bill shows them as separate lines, and riders can change between tariff revisions.
As a cross-check, PSEG Long Island billed its residential customers an average of 24.57¢ per kWh in 2024 (revenue ÷ sales, EIA-861). A plan taken from URDB is shown only if its all-in price is consistent with that figure, adjusted for New York’s price change since.
