What are CEI’s peak hours?

It depends on the plan. RS-TOD: Mid-peak 6 am–2 pm, Peak 2 pm–6 pm, Mid-peak 6 pm–8 pm, on weekdays, all year; weekends: off-peak all day. Hours are local clock time.

When is electricity cheapest on CEI?

On summer weekdays the lowest price is RS-TOD: 8 pm–6 am next day at 18.4¢/kWh, against 24.0¢ at the peak. RS charges the same price at every hour.

Which CEI plan is cheapest?

How CEI’s plans work

RS (Residential Service). In July every kWh costs about 20.1¢, whatever the month's use. Fixed charge: $8.09 a month.

RS-TOD (Residential Service, Time-of-Day Option). Mid-peak 6 am–2 pm, Peak 2 pm–6 pm, Mid-peak 6 pm–8 pm on July weekdays; 4 of 24 hours carry the top price of 24.0¢. The cheapest July weekday hour costs 18.4¢, so moving 1 kWh out of the top hours saves 5.6¢. January weekdays range from 18.4¢ to 23.9¢. Summer pricing applies Jun–Aug; winter pricing Sep–May. Weekends differ: off-peak all day. Fixed charge: $8.09 a month.

Prices on this page are all-in per kWh, before taxes: base rates, supply and every per-kWh rider in the utility’s current tariff sheets. Your bill shows them as separate lines, and riders can change between tariff revisions.

As a cross-check, CEI billed its residential customers an average of 16.76¢ per kWh in 2024 (revenue ÷ sales, EIA-861). A plan taken from URDB is shown only if its all-in price is consistent with that figure, adjusted for Ohio’s price change since.
