How EPB’s plans work
RS (EPB Base Rate Plan). One price per kWh at every hour, all year: 12.0¢. Shifting use to other hours changes nothing on this plan; using less is the only lever. Fixed charge: $9.81 a month.
TRS (EPB Time Shift Rate Plan). Peak 3 pm–7 pm on July weekdays; 4 of 24 hours carry the top price of 20.3¢. The cheapest July weekday hour costs 10.6¢, so moving 1 kWh out of the top hours saves 9.7¢. January weekdays range from 10.6¢ to 20.3¢. Summer pricing applies Apr–Oct; winter pricing Nov–Mar. Weekends differ: off-peak all day. Fixed charge: $9.81 a month.
NRS (EPB Night Shift Rate Plan). Peak 5 am–11 pm on July weekdays; 18 of 24 hours carry the top price of 13.1¢. The cheapest July weekday hour costs 8.8¢, so moving 1 kWh out of the top hours saves 4.3¢. January weekdays range from 8.8¢ to 13.1¢. Fixed charge: $9.81 a month.
Prices on this page are all-in per kWh, before taxes: base rates, supply and every per-kWh rider in the utility’s current tariff sheets. Your bill shows them as separate lines, and riders can change between tariff revisions.
As a cross-check, EPB billed its residential customers an average of 12.32¢ per kWh in 2024 (revenue ÷ sales, EIA-861). A plan taken from URDB is shown only if its all-in price is consistent with that figure, adjusted for Tennessee’s price change since.
