How Dominion’s plans work
Schedule 1 (Residential Service). In July the first 800 kWh a month cost 17.5¢ each; then 17.8¢ above 800 kWh a month. An average Virginia home (1,299 kWh in July) goes past the first tier, so extra load such as an EV is priced higher. Fixed charge: $7.58 a month.
Schedule 1G (Off-Peak Plan). Mid-peak 5 am–3 pm, Peak 3 pm–6 pm, Mid-peak 6 pm–12 am on July weekdays; 3 of 24 hours carry the top price of 30.9¢. The cheapest July weekday hour costs 13.2¢, so moving 1 kWh out of the top hours saves 17.7¢. January weekdays range from 14.8¢ to 27.0¢. Summer pricing applies May–Sep; winter pricing Oct–Apr. Weekends follow a different schedule from weekdays. Fixed charge: $7.58 a month.
Prices on this page are all-in per kWh, before taxes: base rates, supply and every per-kWh rider in the utility’s current tariff sheets. Your bill shows them as separate lines, and riders can change between tariff revisions.
As a cross-check, Dominion billed its residential customers an average of 14.09¢ per kWh in 2024 (revenue ÷ sales, EIA-861). A plan taken from URDB is shown only if its all-in price is consistent with that figure, adjusted for Virginia’s price change since.
