How Xcel Energy’s plans work
Rg-1 (Residential Service). One price per kWh at every hour: 16.3¢ in July and 15.1¢ in January. Shifting use to other hours changes nothing on this plan; using less is the only lever. Fixed charge: $16.00 a month.
Rg-2 (Residential Time of Day). Peak 9 am–9 pm on July weekdays; 12 of 24 hours carry the top price of 25.1¢. The cheapest July weekday hour costs 10.3¢, so moving 1 kWh out of the top hours saves 14.8¢. January weekdays range from 10.3¢ to 22.4¢. Summer pricing applies Jun–Sep; winter pricing Oct–May. Weekends follow a different schedule from weekdays. Fixed charge: $16.00 a month.
Prices on this page are all-in per kWh, before taxes: base rates, supply and every per-kWh rider in the utility’s current tariff sheets. Your bill shows them as separate lines, and riders can change between tariff revisions.
As a cross-check, Xcel Energy billed its residential customers an average of 15.83¢ per kWh in 2024 (revenue ÷ sales, EIA-861). A plan taken from URDB is shown only if its all-in price is consistent with that figure, adjusted for Wisconsin’s price change since.
