How the two plans work
R-TOU-E (TOU-E): Time-of-Use 4pm-7pm Weekdays
- Peak 4 pm–7 pm on July weekdays; 3 of 24 hours carry the top price of 37.1¢.
- The cheapest July weekday hour costs 15.0¢, so moving 1 kWh out of the top hours saves 22.1¢.
- January weekdays range from 6.2¢ to 35.2¢.
- Summer pricing applies May–Oct; winter pricing Nov–Apr.
- Weekends follow a different schedule from weekdays.
- Fixed charge: $13.94 a month.
R-1 (Medium - Tier 2): Fixed Energy Charge Plan, Medium (Tier 2)
- In July the first 401 kWh a month cost 17.4¢ each; then 16.8¢ above 401 kWh a month.
- An average Arizona home (1,711 kWh in July) goes past the first tier, so extra load such as an EV is priced higher.
- Fixed charge: $13.94 a month.
