How PSE&G’s plans work
RS (Residential Service). In July the first 600 kWh a month cost 28.6¢ each; then 29.9¢ above 600 kWh a month. An average New Jersey home (1,036 kWh in July) goes past the first tier, so extra load such as an EV is priced higher. Fixed charge: $6.00 a month.
RS-TOU-3P (Residential TOU, 3 Period). Mid-peak 6 am–4 pm, Peak 4 pm–9 pm, Mid-peak 9 pm–12 am on July weekdays; 5 of 24 hours carry the top price of 60.3¢. The cheapest July weekday hour costs 9.6¢, so moving 1 kWh out of the top hours saves 50.7¢. January weekdays range from 10.2¢ to 38.2¢. Summer pricing applies Jun–Sep; winter pricing Oct–May. Weekends follow a different schedule from weekdays. Fixed charge: $6.00 a month.
Prices on this page are all-in per kWh, before taxes: base rates, supply and every per-kWh rider in the utility’s current tariff sheets. Your bill shows them as separate lines, and riders can change between tariff revisions.
As a cross-check, PSE&G billed its residential customers an average of 20.42¢ per kWh in 2024 (revenue ÷ sales, EIA-861). A plan taken from URDB is shown only if its all-in price is consistent with that figure, adjusted for New Jersey’s price change since.
