How Xcel Energy’s plans work
D01 (Residential Service). One price per kWh at every hour: 13.5¢ in July and 11.9¢ in January. Shifting use to other hours changes nothing on this plan; using less is the only lever. Fixed charge: $21.50 a month.
D02 (Residential Time of Day). Peak 9 am–9 pm on July weekdays; 12 of 24 hours carry the top price of 22.1¢. The cheapest July weekday hour costs 8.3¢, so moving 1 kWh out of the top hours saves 13.8¢. January weekdays range from 8.3¢ to 17.8¢. Summer pricing applies Jun–Sep; winter pricing Oct–May. Weekends differ: off-peak all day. Fixed charge: $21.50 a month.
Prices on this page are all-in per kWh, before taxes: base rates, supply and every per-kWh rider in the utility’s current tariff sheets. Your bill shows them as separate lines, and riders can change between tariff revisions.
As a cross-check, Xcel Energy billed its residential customers an average of 12.11¢ per kWh in 2024 (revenue ÷ sales, EIA-861). A plan taken from URDB is shown only if its all-in price is consistent with that figure, adjusted for North Dakota’s price change since.
