How Ohio Edison’s plans work
RS (Residential Service). In July every kWh costs about 19.5¢, whatever the month's use. Fixed charge: $8.77 a month.
RS-TOD (Residential Service, Time-of-Day Option). Mid-peak 6 am–2 pm, Peak 2 pm–6 pm, Mid-peak 6 pm–8 pm on July weekdays; 4 of 24 hours carry the top price of 23.4¢. The cheapest July weekday hour costs 17.8¢, so moving 1 kWh out of the top hours saves 5.6¢. January weekdays range from 17.8¢ to 23.3¢. Summer pricing applies Jun–Aug; winter pricing Sep–May. Weekends differ: off-peak all day. Fixed charge: $8.77 a month.
Prices on this page are all-in per kWh, before taxes: base rates, supply and every per-kWh rider in the utility’s current tariff sheets. Your bill shows them as separate lines, and riders can change between tariff revisions.
As a cross-check, Ohio Edison billed its residential customers an average of 16.18¢ per kWh in 2024 (revenue ÷ sales, EIA-861). A plan taken from URDB is shown only if its all-in price is consistent with that figure, adjusted for Ohio’s price change since.
