Adding an EV driven 1,000 miles a month and charged at each plan’s cheapest hour, RSEV gives the lower total ($210 against $219 a month).

What is the difference between RS and RSEV?

RS is tiered: the price per kWh rises with monthly use, with a fixed charge of $19.27 a month. RSEV is time-of-use (summer weekdays: Mid-peak 6 am–2 pm, Peak 2 pm–7 pm, Mid-peak 7 pm–11 pm; lowest price 11 pm–6 am next day), with a fixed charge of $19.27 a month.

How the two plans work

RS: Residential Service

  • In July the first 1,350 kWh a month cost 16.4¢ each; then 19.2¢ above 1,350 kWh a month.
  • An average Oklahoma home (1,598 kWh in July) goes past the first tier, so extra load such as an EV is priced higher.
  • Fixed charge: $19.27 a month.

RSEV: Residential Service Electric Vehicle

  • Mid-peak 6 am–2 pm, Peak 2 pm–7 pm, Mid-peak 7 pm–11 pm on July weekdays; 5 of 24 hours carry the top price of 34.2¢.
  • The cheapest July weekday hour costs 9.9¢, so moving 1 kWh out of the top hours saves 24.3¢.
  • January weekdays range from 9.9¢ to 13.3¢.
  • Summer pricing applies Jun–Oct; winter pricing Nov–May.
